Lamination is the process of permanently bonding two or more thin sheets of material together by means of heat, pressure, and/or adhesives to make a single sheet with multiple characteristics. To name just two of many, many uses: a clear protective layer can be laminated to printed material so it stands up to environ-mental wear and tear, and wallcovering can be laminated to paper or other backing for efficient installation.
